On June 7 (as always on the first Saturday in June), the World Quizzing Championships took place. This event, organized by the International Quizzing Association, is held in various locations by local quiz organizations; in Switzerland, the venues were Zurich, Bern, and Lucerne. Of the 1,958 participants worldwide, 19 represented Switzerland.

Prakhar Gupta leads the Swiss rankings for the sixth time in a row and has made it into the top 100 for the fifth time in a row. Congratulations on this outstanding achievement!
The Englishman Daoud Jackson took the top spot, meaning that after a five-year drought, the title returns to the motherland of competitive quizzing (where it went in 16 of the 17 previous competitions). He is followed by last year's winner Victoria Groce (USA) and Ronny Swiggers (Belgium), who already has two titles to his name.
